Serves 165 yeshivot and day schools through the distribution
of subsidized kosher commodities, the processing of claims
for government reimbursements for school food programs, the
preparation of periodic governmental reviews of food service
programs, and the development of balanced menus, and more.
The department worked with the New York State Nutrition Consortium
and the New York City Board of Education in lobbying New York
State officials to supplement cuts by the federal government
for summer nutrition programs.
